Hello World!  I am Melanie Christoff!  Newest member of the Cure Design Group-Design Team.  I have joined their team as an Associate Designer and I wanted to reach out and introduce myself!

Blogging for the first time isn’t easy. If you can imagine the blank writing platform staring back

at you, the curser just flashing, and flashing, and flashing at you like some taunting little imp

dancing around, mocking your nervousness ultimately forcing you to give in and slam the lid of

your laptop closed … well, that same situation has played out for the last three months. UNTIL

NOW. I will NOT close my laptop! Here I am world, I’m opening my book to you! [I’m so scared]

I know blogging isn’t a difficult thing. It’s simply interpreting your thoughts into words. Simple

right? Until you realize the entire world of innerwebs can read your thoughts. [Yikes!] On the

other hand, I also know I have absolutely nothing to fear working with such a strong, supportive

group of like-minded designers like me. Truthfully, at times we may be too like-minded and it

gets us into trouble. Have you ever seen sisters pack together at a holiday event laughing with

and AT each other? Yup. I’ve worked with two of these ladies before in a previous life (and by

‘life’ I mean ‘job,’ because isn’t that what a job is?) We‘d talk about the projects we’re working

on, help each other with color selections or layouts when the other has hit a wall, we’d lean on

each other when the “perfect design” wasn’t purchased, but most importantly we had fun. I

know, I’m reminambling. (See what I did there? reminiscing + rambling?) So where am I going

with all this? I’ll tell you…….

I’ve been in corporate-America for the last 7 years, sitting idle behind a

desk playing puppet to the man with his feet up raking in the big bucks all the while I’m stuck

there for 50+ hours week by week slaving away to meet the always-too-soon deadlines set by

said man. Granted I was still designing; but it was for a national retail store, so picture

“designing” an Ice Cream truck… one thousand times over. It was a factory. Well, that wasn’t

really allowing me to flex my creative muscles and I’m SO STINKIN’ EXCITED TO BE BACK!

You. Have. No. idea.

So what will I blog about? Over time I want to keep you up to speed on the projects I’m working

through – notice I didn’t say ‘I’ve done,’ because half the fun is to see how these things get

started. What seems to be happening out there in our market in relation to finishes,

construction, layouts, and such. I’d love to share with you some hot items & must haves for the

holidays and seasons. So stick with me world, but watch out! I’m back and I’m blogging!

xoxo,

MLC

My entire adult life I’ve been passionate about all things interior design. After receiving my degree in Interior Design with an emphasis in Architectural Design, I have worked in Visual Merchandising, Residential Design and in Commercial Design for a national retailer; my heart is and always has been in any design position that allows me to provide my clients with the utmost stylized space for their taste and function. It has been my pledge for over 12 years to create new spaces by fulfilling the parameters set by the client while communicating openly and working together, to use the most current techniques and strategies to propose innovative designs, and to develop and install new environments with creativity, knowledge and excellence. Nothing makes me happier than to see a client swoon over their re-decorated, remodeled, or renovated area.
