The clients have recently downsized from a large home to a smaller villa. \u00a0They purged a lot throughout the move and have acquired some great new furniture, but wanted some style ideas.<\/p>\n<p>This was the space when we first met.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/curedesigngroup.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Before-Patty-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1523\" alt=\"Before Patty 1\" src=\"https:\/\/curedesigngroup.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Before-Patty-1-300x225.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curedesigngroup.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Before-Patty-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/curedesigngroup.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Before-Patty-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/curedesigngroup.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Before-Patty-1-30x23.jpg 30w, https:\/\/curedesigngroup.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Before-Patty-1-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/curedesigngroup.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Before-Patty-1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nothing offensive, they had some great furniture pieces to start off with; it was just a little boring. \u00a0It needed some soul and visual interest infused. The only requirements from the clients were that two recliners must be added for comfortable TV watching. Recliners are not something that I ever work with, so that would be a bit of a challenge, but aside from that they were willing to experiment with my ideas.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1e1e1e;\">First thing up was to determine the floor plan. \u00a0I liked their recently purchased rug quite a lot, but the size was driving me crazy. \u00a0I am a firm believer that\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">area rugs should extend at least under the first set of legs in an arrangement<\/span><span style=\"color: #1e1e1e;\">. An easy way to remedy this was to layer an additional sisal rug under their existing one. The plan was inspired by industrial shelves I had previously designed.
